Arboretum

Nature’s own masterpiece

The 1.5-hectare grounds of Ilopakka form a carefully nurtured, semi-wild ecosystem. Here, you live as part of a living history, where century-old trees and flourishing new life meet.

Indigenous species and historical heritage

Arboretum Ilopakka is a place dedicated to cultivating trees, following their life cycles, observing natural dynamics, and supporting a diverse ecosystem. At the heart of the grounds beats a rich ecosystem sustained by trees. The historical layers of the property are visible in the sturdy deciduous trees, the old apple orchard, and the newer oak grove.

Among the mature trees, new species are being introduced to support the area’s biodiversity. In the spring of 2027, the greenery of the arboretum will be complemented by carefully selected azaleas, adding a delicate, colorful layer to the pine heath. The development aims to achieve the international ArbNet Level 1 accreditation, reflecting the area’s scientific and aesthetic value.

A cooling microclimate – natural luxury

When continental Europe swelters in the heat, at Ilopakka, you can breathe freely. Large Norway maples create a protective canopy over the yard, acting as natural air conditioning. This lush shelter keeps daytime temperatures comfortable and ensures that even after bright summer days, the evenings cool down refreshingly. It is the true essence of “coolcationing.”

Semi-wild philosophy and ecological restoration

Ilopakka is not a sterile, perfectly manicured display park. We believe in a semi-wild aesthetic, where nature’s own processes are allowed to be seen and heard. We actively support the ecological restoration of the area: decaying wood provides a habitat for insects and birds, and undergrowth is allowed to flourish where it naturally thrives. This is modern, transparent nature conservation that makes the landscape not only beautiful but also vibrant and full of life.

Perfect privacy

Although the arboretum is growing into a site of local significance and we collaborate with dendrological experts, the peace of our guests is absolute. The doors are open for occasional wider public events only at separately announced times outside the booking calendar. As our guest, this entire semi-wild kingdom is exclusively for you and your family to enjoy.
